The expensive part of a hidden leak is almost never the repair. It is the drywall, the flooring and the three exploratory holes somebody cut looking for it. We locate first, with acoustic and thermal equipment, and open exactly one place. If your water bill jumped and nothing looks wet, that is the call to make.

Leak Detection — questions we hear

How do I know I have a hidden leak?

A water bill that climbs with no change in habit, a hot spot on a floor, the sound of running water when everything is off, or a meter that keeps ticking after you close the main. Any one of those is enough to check.

Do you have to break the slab?

To repair a slab leak, usually yes — but at one located point rather than wherever it looks likely. Sometimes rerouting the line overhead is cheaper and less destructive than opening the floor at all, and we will price both and let you pick.

What does detection cost if you find nothing?

We charge for the detection visit, and we tell you that number before we come out. If there is no leak, that is a useful answer and you are not paying for a repair you did not need.

Will my insurance cover it?

Often the water damage, rarely the pipe itself, and it varies by policy. We photograph and document the location and the cause so you have something to file with, but we are plumbers and not adjusters.
