Three generations of Charlotte plumbers
Wrenwater has been working on Charlotte houses since 1987 — long enough that we are now repairing systems we installed, and occasionally systems a grandfather installed.
What we are trying to be good at
Plumbing is a trade people call in a bad moment, which makes it unusually easy to take advantage of somebody. Most of what we have built the company around is refusing to do that in small, specific ways: publishing the licence numbers instead of saying "licensed and insured", not charging extra because it is midnight, running a camera before quoting a sewer replacement, and telling people when the honest answer is that nothing is wrong.
The result is a business that grows almost entirely by word of mouth, and a call list with a lot of the same surnames on it as in the nineties.
We measured our own market
In August 2026 we read 9 plumbing company homepages across this metro, top to bottom, and counted what they actually tell customers. Three things stood out, and all three shaped how this site is written:
- 0 of 9 published a licence number. Every one of them wrote "licensed and insured" instead. Ours are at the bottom of every page and in the trust bar at the top.
- 0 of 9 published a price. Nobody in this trade can quote your house from a webpage — so instead of a fake number we published the exact sequence by which you get a real one.
- Only 4 of 9 made any emergency-availability claim at all. We answer at 2am and we charge 2am the same as Tuesday, so we say both plainly rather than burying them.
What we stand behind
One year on workmanship
Every repair we make is warranted for a full year. If the thing we fixed fails again in that window, we come back and there is no second invoice.
Manufacturer warranty on installs
New water heaters, softeners and fixtures carry the manufacturer's warranty, and we register it for you. Our labour guarantee sits on top of it.
The quoted number is the number
If the job takes longer than we estimated, that is our misjudgement and our cost. The only time a price changes is if you approve additional work in writing.
We leave it clean
Shoe covers, drop cloths, and the space cleaner than we found it. If we cut drywall, we cut it straight and patch it ready for paint.
Licensed on both sides of the line
This matters more than it sounds. South Carolina runs its own licensing board, and a plumber licensed only in North Carolina cannot pull a permit in York County. We pull our own in both.
