Anybody can push a cable through a clog and get the water moving for a fortnight. The question that matters is why it clogged, and you cannot answer that from the top of the drain. We run a camera before we quote anything beyond a simple sink stoppage, because in this city the answer is usually roots, and roots do not care how hard you snake them.

Why does my drain keep clogging?
If it is one fixture, it is usually grease, hair or something that went down that should not have. If it is more than one fixture, or a toilet is gurgling when the washer drains, the problem is in the main line and clearing the branch will not fix it. That distinction is the whole reason we camera first.
Do you really run a camera every time?
On main line work, yes, and we show you the screen. On a single slow sink, no — that would be charging you for theatre. We will tell you which one you have before we start.
What is hydro-jetting?
High-pressure water that scours the pipe wall instead of just boring a hole through the blockage. It is the right tool for grease and for fine roots. It is the wrong tool for an old clay line that is already cracked, which is another thing the camera tells us.
Roots again — is that a Charlotte thing?
It is an old-neighbourhood thing, and Charlotte has a lot of old neighbourhoods with big trees over clay laterals. Dilworth, Elizabeth, Plaza Midwood and Myers Park are the calls we get most.
